At the risk of having an even worse time in England than Abou Diaby did, French midfielder and former UEFA Golden Boy Paul Pogba is at the center of the most news spinning transfer tale of the season.
The World Cup winner came back from Juventus for a record signing fee after he left United because they refused to put respect on his name.
The same scenario seems to be playing out at Old Trafford nowadays and as a result, the French man has set his sights away from Manchester.
Although Fede Valverde arrived Real Madrid after Los Blancos failed to sign Pogba in the summer, next month’s transfer window is set to open up another set of bidding rounds which Zinedine Zidane will hope extends all the way to next year’s summer transfer window.
Since returning to the Bernabeu, Zidane has yet to make a huge signing request and the French man is said to be holding on to his guns for the sole purpose of pulling the one trigger that will force club president Florentino Perez to pry him from United at all costs.
Perez once failed to bring Manchester United’s David de Gea in a transfer saga that left many questioning just how powerful Los Blancos still is in terms of getting any player they wanted.
Allowing such comical incident to repeat itself is the last thing Perez or any other person in charge of transfers at the club would want.
Valverde may have joined as a temporary addition to save Madrid’s face and their inability to sign who they really wanted. However, no amount of dedicated display will make the Spanish giants retrace their step from signing their first choice.
Pogba has all the makings of a successful midfielder capable of driving his team to higher heights. Madrid just need to trigger his transfer and take a chance with him.
